Impression from Pronunciation

Did You Think Pronunciation Showcase Our Personality?

In my blog, I am discussing various aspects of life like Relationship, health, career, self-motivation, self-help. Now I am going to discuss aspects related to self-development. Or we can say that personality development. Personality is not a single thing, it is a combination of qualities in a person. Our speaking skills are a very important factor in our personality. And what we speak showcase our personality. And when we speak our pronunciation matters. Incorrect and wrong pronunciation is noticeable and sometimes leads to misunderstanding.

So let’s discuss on it.

What is pronunciation?

Pronunciation is the production of a sound system which doesn’t interfere with communication either from the speaker’s or the listener’s viewpoint (According to Paulson & Border)

Everyone has their own definition of it but In short and simple words.

It is a production of a sound system and basics of every language it is the most important and difficult problem that non-native English speakers have to face.

Importance of proper and correct pronunciation

Proper pronunciation can be defined as a reproduction of a language sound, it is the basic requirement and necessity of a learner.

It is important because it makes your first impression, shows your confidence, and boosts your personality /Image.

It is certainly the most important thing that folks notice once you ask an individual in the real world, they’ll not notice your limited vocabulary or grammar mistake But they will notice directly if your pronunciation is nice or bad, if it is poor they’re going to believe you because the guy/girl who speaks bad English and good grammar and vocabulary won’t help you.

Many English learners ignore pronunciation, they can communicate in class and with friends so they think they are good enough in English, and pronunciation doesn’t matter.

English is the second language for us while learning usually learners don’t prioritize pronunciation as compared to grammar and vocabulary, but as English is a worldwide common language and pronunciation is the first thing to be noticed, we should give all the aspects of it.

False and wrong pronunciation can be a cause of laughter and Embarrassment, sometimes it can create negative impressions and misunderstandings.

In everyday communication you usually don’t have to use many complicated words so your limited vocabulary is not a big issue, you can use more simple words to express in fact people will notice right away if your pronunciation is good or bad only the first few simple words
